Italian starwort, Virgil's aster

The European Michaelmas daisy gets its name from its blooming time near St. Michael’s Day. Also known as Italian starwort and Virgil’s Aster, it is the flower most associated with the floral love divination game of "He loves me, he loves me not" (originally effeuiller la marguerite in French). This game determine whether the object of one's affection returns that love by counting and plucking the petals from the flower.
